In the last year, collaboration agreements were signed with the IIS-UNAM and the University of Montreal. During the four-year period, collaboration agreements were also signed with the "OLOF Palme" Center for Analysis and Research on Peace, Security and Development; the International Resource Center for Civil Organizations, A.C. and the Center for Technical and Higher Education CETyS, Ensenada campus; two more international ones: with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Szeged, Hungary and with the Faculty of Linguistics, Literary Science of the University of Bielefeld, Germany; four inter-institutional collaboration bases: one with the Humanities Coordination (to exchange information on academic publications developed by researchers attached to CISAN for their availability, visibility and open access in MICISAN and the HUMANINDEX system), with the General Directorate of Libraries, with the Research Unit on Cultural and Social Representations, Morelia, Michoacán and with IIJ-UNAM.

In June 2021, CISAN was honored with the headquarters, together with the Institute of Social Research, of the Extraordinary Chair of Studies on the Americas, an institutional space for research and dissemination of studies on relations, exchanges and migrations that are established between different nations, societies and cultures, particularly in the North American region. This chair arises in recognition of the importance of the new geopolitics of North America and as a result of the will of our University to strengthen its ties with higher education institutions in Canada, in this specific case with the University of Montreal through its Center for International Studies and Research.
