Profile

Graciela Martínez-Zalce Sánchez is a scholar specializing in Canadian cultural studies, with a focus on migration, borders, identities, and cultural processes. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Language and Literature from UNAM (FES Acatlán) and a Master's and Ph.D. in Modern Letters from Universidad Iberoamericana. She is recognized at level D in the PRIDE program, a Level II member of Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNI), and a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. She has served as a visiting researcher at El Colegio de México, McGill University (Canada), and UAM Cuajimalpa.

She is a teacher in the Department of Hispanic Letters at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, where she leads the Literary Research Seminars I and II (Adaptation Theory; Cinema and Literature). She also teaches in the Graduate Program in Political and Social Sciences, offering a seminar on Film, Migration, and Borders in North America.

She is a Definitive Full Professor “C” at UNAM’s Center for Research on North America (CISAN), where she also serves as the Director.
